Fact Check Gets It All Wrong In 2022
As reported by Fact Check’s Lori Robertson on January 6, 2022:
“On that day — and afterward — we debunked false, misleading and unfounded claims related to the events that day. Here is a summary of our coverage.”
Lori Robertson continues to write:
“Blaming Pelosi. Over the summer, House Republicans tried to shift blame for the breach of the Capitol to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, saying she was “ultimately responsible for the breakdown of security.” ‘But we found their arguments overstated the role of the House speaker in overseeing security of the Capitol and relied on speculation.”
‘House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested, without evidence, that prior to Jan. 6, 2021, Pelosi played a role in denying a request to use National Guard members at the Capitol that day. (Trump also pushed this idea in a Jan. 4 statement this year.)”
We're Calling Donkey Dung!
Video has since surfaced with Nancy Pelosi declaring, “I take responsibility for not having National Guard at the Capitol on Jan. 6,” a video taken by Nancy Pelosi's staff member Terri McCullough shows.
Nancy Pelosi:
“We have Responsibility, Terry. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have. This is ridiculous. You’re gonna ask me in the middle of the thing when they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff that we should call the Capitol Police? I mean the National Guard? Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?”
Terri:
“They thought that they had sufficient…”
Nancy Pelosi (interrupting):
“No, that is not a question of how they had. They don’t know. They clearly didn’t know. And I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.”
If Nancy Pelosi is admitting responsibility, then why is Fact Check’s Lori Robertson stating, " ‘But we found their arguments overstated the role of the House speaker in overseeing security of the Capitol and relied on speculation.”'
