Editor's Note:

Additionally, the Phoenixville Republican Committee would like to add the following opinions:

The Commissioners claimed that they procured more acreage than they lost. Truth is, they got swampland for developable land. The swampland is not suitable for recreation or hunting. Basically, the public lost land for public use. The PA Game Land Commissioners will use this land swap on their resumes to claim they have added acreage to the PA State Game Lands when in actuality, they have given away prime nature reserve and hunting lands in exchange for unusable (and undevelopable) worthless swampland worth nothing more than a handful of magic beans.
We are not against data centers; we just want sensible locations.

The PA Game Land Committee (PAGLC) was criticized for not being transparent. The PASGLC defended its “transparency” yet oddly, this meeting was only announced 8 days before it was scheduled… not really all that transparent.
One public commenter mentioned that the Pennhurst Trust gave the Pennhurst land for hunting. And that by using that land for big tech, no land holders in the future will want to entrust the state with a land grant. This means that private individuals will be less apt to donate land for public use.
