Thanksgiving
A Unique American Holiday

Thanksgiving Day celebrates the feast in 1621 of the settlers with the Wampanoag Tribe at Plymouth to celebrate the settlers' first harvest after having lost almost half of their party during the previous winter. though I can't speak for the members of the Wampanoag Tribe, the "Pilgrims," as we know them, thanked God.

Though celebrated in various forms throughout our American history, Thanksgiving did not become an official National Holiday until 1941.
