Phoenixville Republican Committee Presents
The Louis J. Amici Memorial Scholarship
$500 Award for Civics and Community Service
The Louis J. Amici Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship, created and maintained by the Phoenixville Republican Committee. This scholarship memorializes the life and work of Lou Amici, who was an active member of the Phoenixville Community serving in both the political and non-political arenas.
He was a caring citizen who embodied selflessness and passion in everything he did and promoted the welfare of Phoenixville through various entities. In the political realm, he was Area Chair for the Phoenixville Republican Committee, Borough Council Member, Zoning Review Committee Member, Poll Worker, Campaign Worker, and served on the Civil Service Commission.
As a teacher at Bishop Kenrick High School, he was also Dean of Students at St. Pius X High School and Chaired the Language Department at Kennedy-Kenrick High School. His musical talents enabled him to perform with Mummer String Bands and donate his time to enrich many different Phoenixville charitable events and fundraisers, such as Band Boosters and the Colonial Theatre. His strong tenor will be missed at St. Ann’s Church and Norristown Hospital where he volunteered.
